You can be entered within two categories. Prizes are not transferable.
4. How to Enter contest:Enter online. No Purchase Necessary. Only one contest entry per person, per day. All winners must be 18 years of age or older (with valid I.D.). Must be USA resident with shipping address located within the Continental States. International Entries Rules and Guidelines below.International Guidelines:Guidelines and Rules are to be followed the same as in the USA enteries, EXCEPT International (or overseas) Prizes are to given as different award choices, as offered on the Victorian Gown Contest International Prizes
page. Winners to be responsible for any/all prize gift shipping charges, customs taxes (or levies) and/ or administrator fees from their country. No substitutions for prizes. In the case of any one International offered awarded prize becomes exhausted, Lisa Schnapp will ask you to make a second choice or she will make a substitution (if her emails are not replied to). Any country that prohibits the types of prizes offered to be sent to their country is prohibited, such as Italy. (Please check if your country allows the prize to shipped there before entering.)5. Bustledress.com wants to see one or two (front and/or back) fabulous photo(s) of you, your model or your Victorian bustle dress (or gown) or, on a mannequin, wearing your most magnificent Victorian bustle dress costume America has ever seen. Show us what makes you special!
One single contest entry allowed of each separate Victorian Bustle Gown costume entered per person, per day.
Entry photo must be a .jpg format (no .tiffs, .gifs or other photographic types) and must be compressed, so the photo is not a huge size. Photo should be no more than 300 Pixels across in width (or smaller) and no more actual size than 300K each (maximum size, in compressed form). Any extra large photos sent to Bustledress will be disqualified, so please keep the photos within the guidelines. Men and children are not eligible to enter this contest. If at the end of the contest, any category has 1 entry or less, than that prize for that category will not be awarded, and the prize retained by the prize sponser.
b.) Write your original paragraph to Bustledress.com in 50 words (or less):
Besides your photo wearing Victorian garb, please add to your Photo entry, an original paragraph (50 words or less) on what types of events you enjoy wearing Victorian costume to.
If you know the name of the seamstress or the business who made the Victorian Costume (no authentic orginal Victorian gowns) you are entering (or if you made your Victorian dress yourself) please add the dressmaker's name (if desired) and we will properly give credit due the dressmaker whenever possible. Also, if there are any photographer's credits to be given, we will gladly do so. (Please note that by entering the contest, you are giving Bustledress.com full permission to use your entered content, the original photos/ and original, written paragraph (no full names or email addresses will be listed for your privacy) for purposes relating to/ about/ for the contest, Bustledress.com web page/ promotion/ publicity, and/or future Bustledress.com contests/ promotions/ giveaways. Models will be required to fill out a model release if you are the winner.
c.) State category you wish to enter, and/or prize you would like to win. (If this is not clearly stated, we will choose a category for you that is deemed by Lisa Schnapp to be appropriate for your costume entry. Lisa Schnapp is not held responsible if your entry is not placed in a category that you wish to be placed in or, win a prize from that category.)

Computer entries must be received not later than midnight, Pacific Daylight Time, on August 15th, 2009, the final day of the contest. Computer entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. An "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.
6. One single contest entry per person per day. Each entry must be transmitted separately. No multiple transmissions of entries permitted. Sponsors, subsidiaries and affiliates are not responsible for (i) late, lost, forged, mass-transmitted (or mass-reproduced) misdirected, incomplete, mutilated, or illegible entries, and such entries that are void; Included are (and/or) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet or computer malfunctions, failures or difficulties; (additionally) any errors, or failures in reception or transmission; (and/or) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Sponsors which may cause the Contest to be disrupted, or corrupted.
7. Judging:
USA General public voting:
The general public (located in the USA) can cast votes by sending in their votes by sending an email to the email address supplied. Votes are for eligible contest entrants in different categories. People sending in votes can send in 1 vote per person, per email address, per day. No additional votes are allowed. This public voting will account for 50 percent of the votes until the finals.
Judges:
Each judge has vast experience in the Victorian Costume field and will narrow down finalists for the winners.
Contest winners in different categories will be judged by different factors (including:)
Overall attractiveness of the Bustle Gown Costume entered being judged. Bustle Gown Costume originality and personality Bustle Dress attractiveness of colors/ trims used Authenticity (If your gown was made after a Fashion plate, or original gown, small scans or photos of that original (300 Pixels across or, compressed to 300K in size or under) are admissible also to enter.
Odds of winning contest depend on the number of eligible entries received. Judges' and Sponsors' decisions are final, right or wrong. In particular, Sponsors reserve the right to cancel or modify the Contest if Sponsors determine, in their sole discretion, that fraud or technical failures, including viruses, bugs, non-authorized human intervention (or other causes beyond the control of Sponsors) have in any way impaired the integrity of the Contest. Sponsors reserve the right to change these Official Rules.
8. Notification of Winners:
The winners will be notified by telephone and/or by e-mail. An Affidavit of Eligibility/ Waiver of Liability and (where legal) a Publicity Release must be signed, and returned prior to receipt of prize. Contest sponsors are not responsible for (and shall not be liable for) late, lost, misdirected, or, unsuccessful efforts to notify a qualified winner. Sponsors will tender prize to winner(s) within 5 days from date of winner's claim of prize and/ completion of all requirements set forth in these Official Rules. Any prize undeliverable within 5 days from the drawing will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner or runner-up, or if a winner is in some way disqualified. Winner is liable for any shipping, handling and insurance fees. All entries become the property of the Sponsors, and will not be returned.
9. Prize Restrictions:
As stated herein, no substitution, cash equivalent or transfer of prize permitted (except at Sponsors' option) is allowed. Sponsors reserve the right to substitute any prize with prize of equal (or greater) value. Federal, state and local taxes, (if any, and all/ other expenses (specified whenever possible) are the sole responsibility of winner. Sponsors will report the prize award on tax reports to the extent required by law (generally, prizes valued at $600 or more must be reported by Sponsors).
10. Additional Terms:
By the privilege of participating, entrants agree (a) to abide by and be bound by the Official Rules; (b) where legal, to the use of their names, likenesses and/or statements by the Sponsors for advertising and publicity purposes without separate compensation; and (c) to release, discharge and hold harmless the Sponsors, their parent companies and/or subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and their respective parts, officers/ directors/ employees/ prize suppliers and agents from any/ all claims, including third party claims, liabilities, injuries or damages arising out of their participation in the contest and the acceptance and use/misuse of prizes, including, but not limited to, merchandise. All federal, state and local laws apply.
11. Eligibility:
Contest is open to legal residents of the continental U.S. ; must be 18 years or older. Employees of the Sponsors, their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, prize suppliers and the immediate families (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and persons living in the same household of each of the above are ineligible for this contest giveaway. However, if a purchaser of a dress originating from a Bustledress.com seamstress is entered (purchased previously before contest or seller's business before being on Bustledress.com) the person/ dress will be allowed to be be considered in the contest, but the name of that dressmaker will not added to the entry so as to give the voting process unbiased fairness. Void where prohibited.
