I've been a designer seamstress for 30 plus years, who turned a passion to wear Victorian fashions into a career to create for discriminating clients in theatre and historical societies in 5 countries. It is a joy to replicate an elaborate silk and brocade dress from an 1880 fashion print, or a Victorian theme movie. I made outfits for myself designed from antique dresses and authentic patterns. Compliments from others and questions about the source of my finery made me realize I could sew for others. It was a natural path to sew ensembles for others who enjoy this fascination to model historical era garments. What can compare to the swish of an elegant ensemble complete with Victorian corset, pantalettes, Victorian bustle petticoat, hat or bonnet, parasol and gloves!

When I'm in Victorian costume, it feels like a walk through a time portal onto a street of today. I enjoy making Victorian fashion gowns for others. Countless hours of labor and yards of luxury fabric bring compliments of appreciation from each garment's new owner. As a member of a Historical Society in Virginia, there are many occasions to plan a new Victorian fashion.
