First, I have to say, this is one of the prettiest and strongest fiber 1910 gowns I've EVER had. Near Mint Condition and in a good size 8 too! This pretty tea length crisp white linen gown has a simplistic shape and elegant lines- the easiest type of gown to wear, if you chose. The "V" neckline has sexy flower clusters of embroidered, Broderie Anglaise cutwork with a sexy, see-through Irish crochet bust insert strip that allows you to view a colored? garment worn underneath. Faux "Bolero" style across the slightly blousen bust. Small Mother of Pearl buttons line the back. 3/4 length sleeves are slightly gathered to raise the sleeve length. There is embroidered, Broderie Anglaise cutwork at the sleeve bottoms, which to gorgeous and unusual effect. No belt. Simple straight skirt with embroidered, Broderie Anglaise cutwork near the knees at the hem bottoms. No inner lining, so it would be cool and comfortable as can be found. Simple and stunning- great for a wedding, tea, or event due to such great condition. Shown with a petticoat peeking out underneath in the front and side photos (to show you can wear a petticoat underneath to make the gown seem longer if desired- petticoat not included.) Mannequin is 5'11," so the hem is obviously shorter on her. The hem would be fairly long if you're about 5' 4"-- if not nearly full length. Best on an "A-C" cup bust, assuming you have taken into account the full measurement I give below, and given yourself AT LEAST 1" added moving room so the bodice will have the correct blousen effect. I personally would wear it with 2" extra bust looseness, especially if you are a full "C" in the bust.
Condition:
This is a gown that is above average in beauty, well made, and the gown is easily strong enough for wearing. The only flaw I could find was a tiny spot on the hem edge. And one underarm had been expanded at the time of making- appears to be original to the gown and not an afterward repair. That's it! A great gown! Props are not included...
