Victorian Petticoat Pannier Bustle made for you by Rhonda Griffin
Have a Victorian Bustle dress costume, or Victorian event you need a quality Victorian Bustle Petticoat, such as VICTORIAN BALLS, DICKENS, SASS, or POST CIVIL WAR events that you need a terrific bustle for? Outstanding seamstress Rhonda Griffin will make the most lovely small pannier petticoat bustle slip especially for you! This is an especially popular bustle style dating from 1874-1889.
This lovely bustle slip was custom made NEW from a Laughing moon Bustle pattern. This is the shorter version of the lobster cage bustle that adds the astonishing lovely shaping to the bustle dresses and gowns that feature trains. We use heavy weight muslin fabric. The petticoat is formed by 4 tiers of frothy ruffling sewn over the four (4) steel hoop bones that form the cage. The ruffles soften the hoop cage. A set of stays are built into the bustle to control the half moon shaping. The stays are adjusted by loosening or tightening the drawstrings ( shoelaces) laced in metal grommets. Stays (above) with drawstring shoe laces rest on the bum. The tighter you pull the shoelaces, the more the bustle pushes out in the back. This bustle undergarment was most popular during the "Bustle Revival Period from 1883 to 1889. A bustle pad pillow comes with the slip for extra support if needed. The waistline closes with thin but strong narrow belting-opens and closes with hook and bars. This bustle can be custom ordered in any size from a 22 waist to a 52 waist. Please email your waist and height measurements with payment.
For many years of loveliness we recommend gentle hand washing. Line dry. No bleach. Seller has been custom designing since 1975.Garments crafted, designed, and made in a smoke free environment.
