Charming 1920's Art Deco shoe Buckle vamp accessory (sew-in attachment type, not an actual buckle or clip-on type.). The ornate "Sunburst" buckle pattern fashioned from pot-metal cast shoe buckles feature lovely, hand-faceted and mine-cut paste rhinestones. Although this fancy costume jewelry type pair of buckles is a set- originally sold together- note that one of the nearly exact buckles has a very interesting alteration, making it very slightly, but uniquely, different- it has a triangular trio of rhinestones on the upper and lower sections, and the other buckle has two rhinestones in an up/down line pattern. Otherwise, the buckles (for lack of a better term) are otherwise, exactly the same. Intriguing!
The openwork filigree of the sun rays have "beaded" wavy edges pressed into them. On the back are two strong clamps with side holes drilled to would attach to loose, 1920's leather vamp flaps. You can even still see the leather shoe blacking that had rubbed off onto the buckles when they were originally worn! These terrific accessories can easily be utilized again on 1920's shoes, or cleaned and made into 1920's dress clips, 1920's chokers, bracelet(s) earrings, cloaks or reticule. They can be sewn onto any fabric you can think of, and they are the perfect size and shape to accessorize most things of this period. 40 rhinestones each. SALE 20 Percent off of listed Price
Condition:
Condition is very good. Parts are strong enough for wearing without fear of breaking. One clip appears very slightly darker from tarnish than the other. A few rhinestones have surface yellowing, plus a few have very slightly darkened...but, none are missing. Original shoe blacking is rubbed onto backs. (No attempt has been made to clean them as we are purists and let new owners decide if they prefer an item in the condition found as we do.) This item sould "AS IS" "As found."
