Vintage 1920's Coral CAMEO 14K GOLD Ring SALE 20 Percent off of listed Price
What a delightful vintage 14K gold ring! We believe that this beautiful vintage ring was originally an 1920's broach, or even an early 1920's Art Deco carved coral broach that later might have been converted nicely into a vintage ring. Alterations (such as possibly this) from items that were broaches, etc., often were converted to necklaces/ rings/ bracelets, etc...a fairly common practice found during this period.
This 20's Cameo ring depicts the high relief carving of a Grecian lady's profile portrait made in a shiny, waxy-appearing, vibrant, peachy-coral hued coral. This very pretty ring is set in a smooth, gold bezel setting rim, surrounded by a spoked gold filigree, "T" pattern, which is then suspended upon two tiers of gold circles. The back of the ring has an opening, so a viewer can clearly see the coral is substantial and colored throughout. The lady's Grecian profile carving is not the super-fine carving of very early pieces. (If you study her nose, it is carved very tiny and detailed, so we know is not a super early.) It is believed to be later, dating likely in the 20's.
Why do we think the ring had possibly originally been a different piece? The gold soder used at a few joints makes it look possibly added later (possible it may not have as well.). The gold ring is clearly signed- stamped, "14K" and bears the maker's mark, which is stamped, "G.G.B."SALE 20 Percent off of listed Price
Condition:
The condition of the cameo ring is great and strong! The gold shank still has "meat" enough to safely wear it, and only the very slightest of thinning from wearing. Just the very slightest wave to the ring circle, again from vintage wearing. These very minor imperfections will not bother most people who love antique and vintage rings- all except those who actually seek 100 percent perfection in jewelry this old. Most vintage rings from this period show more age-related conditions than this.
Price is: $275
