This is a great pair of fabulous two-toned khaki brown and black Victorian- Edwardian walking boots (my personal opinion is that this pair dates around 1895-1900) in a rare but wearable size 7 1/2- 8 wide! I've never seen boots dyed like this, although it very much seems as though this effect was done originally (as far I can tell) and it would have taken an expert shoe maker to get the dyes this perfect anyway. The black toes have been over dyed over a slightly greenish khaki brown for a softly variegated effect on toes and heels. It was a great effect, as I'd never seen this done before. (A bit of original blackish mottling on the heels). Very wearable. Two toned boots were always more sought after by wealthy women than the single colors- unless they were a novelty color, cutout or beaded. These great boots were extremely well made, and expensive at the time. The khaki brown boot ties with metal tips match and are original as well. Heels are thickish, tall and curvy Louis spool heel and heavy soles.
Remember to add 1" to the toe tip for toe wiggle room when measuring yourself- pointed toes can be painful to squeeze into, but comfortable if you give yourself enough room.
Condition:
Light leather creases from being folded, etc. Just 3 scuffs on each heel, a few tiny marks on each body. A tiny dent on one toe. Inside canvas and leather is very good, with just a few spots. Tongues are great. Lots of meat on the soles/ heel plates with light /moderate wear. Both original extra fine Khaki strings have a few tiny worn areas or a mend each- should be replaced BEFORE wearing. Very, very nice boots!
Price is: $495
