Reproduction 1700s Revolution Georgian era gown by Alethea Sayers

This gown is a Reproduction of a 1700's Revolution Rococco style Georgian era dress. This time period spanned from 1714 through 1811 but think "Duchess of Devonshire" THE DUCHESS (the movie) for this dress. Ensemble consists of 5 pieces, the lace underbodice, laced overbodice, gold skirt and burgundy skirt as well as a matching hat. Check out the real crystal beads on the lace underbodice!

BODICES: The underbodice is made of an ecru lace over ecru netting. It closes in the back, has thin shoulder straps and is dotted at the top with topaz crystal beading (see close up). The overbodice is made of burgundy taffeta, lined in burgundy cotton and closes in the front with ribbons laced through hidden grommets. The three quarter sleeves are a series over two oversleeves in burgundy on a gold sleeve that is trimmed with a narrow vintage lace. Around the top of the oversleeves is a gold tone on tone gimp braiding.

SKIRTS: The underskirt has a gold taffeta panel in the front and ivory cotton around the back portion that is not seen when covered with the overskirt. The overskirt is of burgundy taffeta and each has it's own waistband. It is designed to be worn over a narrow hoop or flounced petticoats.

HAT: The hat is a small hat with back upturned and is designed to sit towards the front. It is a straw base covered with lace and netting, trimmed in a burgundy cording with burgundy rooster feathers. The trim around the crown is a ruched gold ribbon with tiny gold trim. The ties are of a burgundy organza ribbon.

NOTE: This gown is brand new and never been worn. This dress is also perfect for Theatre, reenacting, Halloween or whatever you choose as it is a well made item! I never charge a handling fee and my shipping cost for this item is $18.00 within the US, and very reasonable for overseas buyers. Overseas buyers should e-mail me for shipping cost. I ship to UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Australia and Canada. Please e-mail me if you would like a quote on overseas shipping or have any questions. Props are not included.

Condition:

A short note on the construction of my dresses... I always try to maintain an accurate representation of whatever period I am reproducing. All of my seams are pinked to prevent unraveling. I never use Velcro, fabric glue or zippers on the garments and proper interfacing is always used in the waistbands and collars to prevent rolling. I also adjust my patterns slightly to allow for more upper arm comfort than original patterns of this period provide. If a fabric easily unravels, I flat line each piece with a zig-zag stitch. Buyer pays for priority shipping (based on item's weight and bulk), with insurance and tracking included! All sales are final. I will be happy to answer any questions you might have prior to purchase, and can send more photos upon request.

Note: My international shipping rates are very reasonable, with no handling charges but buyers should contact me for a shipping quote prior to purchase.
