1890s Victorian Ball Gown Costume with Train and Cape READY TO WEAR

Reproduction 1890s Victorian Costume Evening, ball gown with train and matching cape w/black fur collar! An elegant dress of candlelight silk charmuse and black velvet, with hand beading, this would make a wonderful early Christmas present. Silk Charmuse is a light soft and flowing fabric that shimmers in the light like liquid. It is available for delivery now- ready to wear.

Bodice is made of candlelight/beige Silk Charmuse and is double lined with boning. The front has a vintage lace insert, overlaid with a large applique that has been hand beaded with a combination of pearl, clear, gold and black jet beads. The neckline is trimmed with a thin black velvet ribbon and the sleeves are ruffled charmuse layered over black velvet. Bodice waist is a maximum of 33 inches possible.

The skirt is a gored skirt with the side and back panels in black velvet, which splits open to reveal the silk charmuse down the back and the center of the train! Two matching appliques have been sewn to the front panel and are also hand beaded. The skirt is completely flat lined with cotton. The train is finished with a flounce, and has another flounce of sheer net on the underside of the hem. No BUSTLE is required for this style of dress but a petticoat should be worn for the proper look. (Petticoat not included)

The cape is more designed for looks rather than warmth, though the silk charmuse is lined with ivory cotton. Around the sweep of the cape is a wide black velvet ribbon. The stand up collar is wired to hold it's shape and is made of a black faux fur against the neck and black taffeta on the outside. Lots of details and hand work for anyone to admire in this dress!

USA shipping cost is $12.00 USD. I never charge a handling fee, and only charge my shipping cost. My overseas shipping rate is very reasonable, and can be delivered within 3-5 working days. Overseas buyers please contact me for International shipping cost. Paypal only for outside US.

A short note on the construction of my dresses... I always try to maintain an accurate representation of whatever period I am reproducing. All of my seams are pinked to prevent unraveling. I never use Velcro, fabric glue or zippers on the garments and proper interfacing is always used in the waistbands and collars to prevent rolling. I also adjust my patterns slightly to allow for more upper arm comfort than original patterns of this period provide. If a fabric easily unravels, I flat line each piece with a zig-zag stitch.
