Alethea has made Victorian themed gowns and capes featured on novels by famous authors, painted artworks, and has the ability to faithfully reproduce famous antique gowns and Victorian style capes to make you that very special item you've been dreaming of! Here is Alethea's interpretation of the wonderful wedding dress from the 1700's movie, "The Duchess." This gorgeous 1700's gown features lots of hand beading on the front, and can be reproduced in various colors of taffeta or silk. Price is 625.00 in taffeta, or 695.00 in silk. Sizes offered: Small size 1-7, Med. size 8-10, and Large 12-16. Alethea never charges a shipping handling fee, and only charges her shipping cost. Her overseas shipping rate is very reasonable, and a finished item can be delivered within 5 working days. Overseas buyers, please contact Alethea for International shipping costs. Condition: A short note on the construction of Alethea's Victorian style capes and dresses... She always tries to maintain an accurate representation of whatever period she is reproducing. All of her seams are pinked to prevent unraveling. She never use Velcro, fabric glue or zippers on the garments and proper interfacing is always used in the waistbands and collars to prevent rolling. She also adjusts her patterns slightly to allow for more upper arm comfort than original patterns of this period provide. If a fabric easily unravels, she flat lines each piece with a zig-zag stitch.
