1893 Victorian Ball Gown Costume no bustle with Jet Beads.

A beautiful reproduction of an 1893 Columbia Exposition ball gown, made of pink taffeta, black lace and vintage jet beading will have you floating across the dance floor. This Belle Epoch ensemble will make you feel transported in time for those special outings! This gown requires no bustle as it is in the natural form, so reminiscent of the Gibson Girl era. The ensemble consist of 2 pieces, bodice and skirt. Inspiration for this dress was taken from the book, "Les Petites Dames de Mode" by John Burbridge (original shown in photo).

BODICE: Bodice has been flat lined and bag lined with 100 percent cotton, and boned in each seam for stability. Around the neckline is an original soutache trim with jet beading, followed by pink taffeta bows around the top. Each bow has an applique in the center that has black glass beads. Underneath the bows and falling below them is an original 1890's jet beaded fringe. Black soutache trim with black glass beading trims the waist with an organza rose trim on the large sleeves. The sleeves has tulle between the lining and sleeve to help maintain and puffiness and bodice closes with hook and eye.

SKIRT: The flared skirt of pink taffeta, is completely flat lined with a row of 14" black eyelash lace trim. At the top of the trim is pink satin ribbon, black soutache trim and 4 pink bows. All of the appliques and black glass beading have been hand sewn on.

Own a bit of both vintage and the new in this dress. Brand new and never worn. I will throw in a couple of the pink roses for a hairpiece.

USA shipping cost of $12.00 USD. I never charge a handling fee and only charge my shipping cost. My overseas shipping rate is very reasonable, and can be delivered within 5 working days. Overseas buyers please contact me for International shipping cost. Paypal only for outside US.

Condition:

A short note on the construction of my dresses... I always try to maintain an accurate representation of whatever period I am reproducing. All of my seams are pinked to prevent unraveling. I never use Velcro, fabric glue or zippers on the garments and proper interfacing is always used in the waistbands and collars to prevent rolling. I also adjust my patterns slightly to allow for more upper arm comfort than original patterns of this period provide. If a fabric easily unravels, I flat line each piece with a zig-zag stitch.
