This is a really spectacular 1884 dinner gown. Above the Chantilly lace flounce is a panel of pearled lace. The pumpkin orange accordion pleats are long, and precisely thin. To control fullness on the pleats, a silk running thread of backstitched stitches on the inner creases is used about 2" from the bottom hem.Victorian Fashion bustle dress pleats
