An Elegant Gothic 1873 style dress in double-sides Silver and Black Skull Brocade. Gathered black lace and glass black buttons with silver decoration and swarovski crystal. Most people have to look 3 times before they notice that is a Skull Brocade. A Juliette Cap shaped fascinator made from buckram and made with the same fabric is worn with it. Manon Antoinette

This is a late Bustle ensemble about 1887, a burgundy embroidered taffeta, with contrasting off-white taffeta with the exact same embroidery pattern. Made the buckram hat to match. Buttons are vintage chestnut brown leather buttons. It's supposed to be a day dress or visiting dress. These are several shots, including one I specifically had taken to prove someone wrong who claimed it was not possible to sit with a bustle petticoat! Manon Antoinette

It is made from black and white striped silk with complementing black and white taffeta. A chevron effect was created as detail in the back of the bodice with tiny satin pleats in the seams. The trained skirt features layers of pleats and ruffles. The overskirt has ribbon detailing that flows through into the matching bodice. A faux white inset blouse and ruffle neckline are offset by tiny black buttons. The sleeves again replicate the layered effect of the trailing skirt. Ms Clancy
