USA Entry 44.) Dress: Steampunk Victorian Bustle Gown with Goggled Top hatCategory: USA Best Steampunk GownWebsite: Gothic Supermodel plus Clockwork Couture WebsiteSeamstress: Diana CoxPhotography: Derek CaballeroModel: Donna Ricci, Gothic SupermodelHaving always felt "out of place" in a city where "less is more" when it comes to how much one covers up one's body, I have never felt truly at home in Los Angeles until I discovered the wonderful resurgence of the Neo-Victorian Steampunk Scene. It is here where fine clothing, lady-like mannerisms and chivalry is once again celebrated and where showing so much as an ankle is considered lewd. The dress was made by my good friend Diana Cox. It is a two piece ensemble of olive green taffeta. Donna Ricci, the Gothic Supermodel
USA Entry 43.) Dress: Peach Victorian Bustle Ball Gown with Pearl flowersCategory: USA Best Victorian Ball GownSeamstress: Linda E. Charron at: FrocksofAges.comThis Ball Gown was inspired by the beautiful simplicity of the early 1890s gowns. It is made in pale peach embossed Bengaline and pale peach silk Dupioni, and features hand made silk flowers and hand beading. I named this Ball Gown after my Grandmother Arilla Elizabeth who, though she passed many years ago, still watches over my sewing room daily. This gown can be seen on my web site. I want to thank Dale Rensing who now owns the gown for allowing me to enter it in this contest. Linda Charron
