USA Entry 57.) Dress: 1870's Red Taffeta and Velvet bustle Outfit.
Category: USA Most Beautiful Day Dress
I made this dress when I had an opportunity to portray a Denver Colorado Madame, Jenny Rogers. I have portrayed her several times, and hope to do more. Again, this dress was made from recycled items. The skirt from several old drapes, the top from a beautiful piece of satin from the thrift store. LOTS of trims and lace, handmade roses and ribbons, and the hat to match... CS

USA Entry 53.) Dress: Victorian Blue Velvet Bustle Gown.
Category: USA Most Beautiful Day Dress
This dress was made entirely from recycled materials. It started out as a 1970's prom dress. I cut it up, added fabric to the bodice, then made the skirt from old drapes and the overskirt from an old velvet jacket. The bustle was a scrap piece of taffeta flocked with velvet flowers. All the trims were from my grandma's closet, and an old dress of my Mom's. I even hand painted the old fabric flowers to give them sparkle. The cape was an old jacket re-cut and and re-sewn. A very fun project... CS

USA Entry 48.) Dress: Dove Gray Natural Form Bustle Dress
Category: USA Best Victorian day dress
Seamstress: Linda E. Charron at: FrocksofAges.com
This Natural Form Day Dress is made of Dove Gray Moire' Faille and Cranberry Red Silk Dupioni. I trimmed it with prairie points, piping, and metal buttons with a brushed star motif. I made this gown for a young lady named Elina in Helsinki, Finland. It was quite a learning experience to be jumping into the International market. This was my first overseas sale, and I had no idea of the entanglements of international shipping customs. Happily, Elina got the gown in time for her event and was very pleased. Linda Charron

USA Entry 45.) Dress: Forest Green embossed Bengaline Bustle Dress
Category: USA Best Victorian day dress
Seamstress: Linda E. Charron at: FrocksofAges.com
I recently finished this Victorian day dress and haven't even had time to put it on the web site...It is made of Forest Green embossed Bengaline and trimmed in Onyx Black silk dupioni, black pleated lace and green floral appliques. This sophisticated Bustle gown would be appropriately worn for semi-formal occasions such as hostessing a tea or luncheon. Linda Charron

USA Entry 42.) Dress: 1870's Wool Victorian Bustle Gown
Category: USA Best Victorian Day Dress
Seamstress: Brownell1984 from Ebay. Website: Anachronistic Jenn.
I suppose I most enjoy wearing bustle dresses to places and events where they can be appropriate and yet they're unexpected, such as museums and the theater! Brownell1984

USA Entry 39.) Dress: Green-Gray-Pink Victorian Dress Bustle Gown
Category: USA Best Victorian Day Dress
Basque Bodice was reproduced from the November 23rd, 1872 issue of Harper's Bazaar Magazine. The Apron and Pannier Skirt pattern was drafted from an actual skirt that was featured in an 1870's issue of Demorest Monthly Magazine. I used a Changeable Silk Taffeta in a shade of Sage Green gray, shot with Rose Petal Pink. The Warp threads are a Sage Green color, and the Weft threads are a light Pink color. The Weft (Pink) threads are only slightly detectable with a Soft Pink hue that is seen with changes in lighting and movement. Trimmings are Self Fabric, Pink embroidered Organza Lace, and several Taffeta fabric covered buttons. Miss Lisa
