Dress: Steampunk Victorian Bustle Gown with Goggled Top hatCategory: USA Best Steampunk GownWebsite: Gothic Supermodel plus Clockwork Couture WebsiteSeamstress: Diana CoxPhotography: Derek CaballeroModel: Donna Ricci, Gothic SupermodelHaving always felt "out of place" in a city where "less is more" when it comes to how much one covers up one's body, I have never felt truly at home in Los Angeles until I discovered the wonderful resurgence of the Neo-Victorian Steampunk Scene. It is here where fine clothing, lady-like mannerisms and chivalry is once again celebrated and where showing so much as an ankle is considered lewd. The dress was made by my good friend Diana Cox. It is a two piece ensemble of olive green taffeta. Donna Ricci, the Gothic Supermodel ![]() USA Entry 38.) Dress: Steampunk, Journey to the Centre of the Earth Bustle GownCategory: USA Best Steampunk Victorian GownSeamstress: Widowsweeds. WebStore: www.widowsweeds.comThis Steam Punk Bustle Dress shown featured in this "Journey to the Centre of the Earth" is made of dull, gold silk dupioni with a black, flocked velvet "wallpaper" pattern. Also used is a black and brown striped silk, with a black/ brown herringbone suiting, with black cording accent for the bustle skirt. Truly Victorian was the bodice pattern here. The skirt was a freehand draft. Widowsweeds ![]() |
