 - Bustledress Purchasing Items from Private Sellers -

-

Dear potential Seller to Bustledress,

First, let me implore you, please ... if you are just "shopping" for a price for a gown or item you wish to sell, and arejust looking for the highest price paid for said item by emailing every person on every vintage website online, instead of wasting everyone's valuable time, might I suggest just placing your item on eBay, and then sending us a link? If you are serious about pursing a transaction, please move onto the next paragraph.-
That said and you are sincere and do wish to sell to me directly instead, I do often purchase separate items, estates and occasional lots. On separate pieces, I'm pretty select on what I purchase these days as I'm not interested in items needing intense restoration- just not enough time anymore.I avoid items with shattering areas/ deep fabric fragility or torn or broken areas or deep, large stains, but will take on light mending (like seams). I purchase fine items dating between 1800-1920 and do rarely purchase plain white cotton clothing (like petticoats- just too many of them.) or plain black items (unless extremely fancy, or uncommon somehow.) Unusual is what I'm seeking.-
If this sounds like the types of item you have and are interested in dealing with me further, please send 300 dpi or fewer photos (Large photos take a long time to download.) with light corresponding descriptions (ex: blue silk 1890 dress with lace and train) with bust and waist measurements, with most emphasis on the concerns (rotting or stained armpits, fabric's weak allover, faded, stained/ dirty, holes, tears, fabric splitting, missing buttons/ torn buttonholes, off smells, mildew, melted or broken sequins, laces's tattered, been restored, sewn badly, etc...) this way Ihave a clearer idea of exactly what I'm actually looking at. Also, include your asking price for this piece.-
FYI, to make you aware up front, I only purchase upon approval or (if in Ca.) I could pay you in person after items has been inspected. You can read our testimonials page and can also lookup my eBay name, "bonnet" where I sell items to the World market to see what glowing feedbackothers have written about me there.-

Please compress any photos to be sent to UNDER 100k each before emailing!

Kind regards,-Lisa-
