item number #SOLD1061 MAGNIFICENT Civil War 1860's Lilac CHANGEABLE silk taffeta Velvet dress This is a fabulous example of a Civil War summertime dinner dress made for a married lady (who enjoyed watching heads turn as she walked into a room!) or even a fancy evening gown. The soft iridescent molten lilac into white shimmers and changes from light to dark as the light changes. There's a heavy-weight pink velvet lapels, trims and bows for effect similar in color. Self fabric buttons. Boned on the inside. Glazed cotton innards. Would be fabulous for a collection! Condition: Strong, wearable condition although I don't suggest it for garments this old.
